Today I passed the swallow test. While seated in front of an X-ray machine, I proved I was able to drink liquid barium, swallow pudding-consistency barium, and eat cookies with barium, all to the satisfaction of all the docs. I may glow in the dark for the next few months, but at least now I’m able to drink water again, and for that I’m very thankful.
I’m seeing progress on other fronts as well. The severe headaches are gone, and the dizziness is lessening. I still have balance issues, but I’m working on those. I’ve been given a series of gaze-stabilization exercises that I’m working on for an hour or so each day. These techniques give me headaches, but sometimes the way forward is a little painful. The view is worth the climb. I’m grateful for the wonderful care and for all the prayers being lifted up on my behalf.
Have a great weekend.
Press on,
Mike
